Week 1 (7th – 12th August)
misreading was founded in 2015 by Helen Rousseau, with fellow artists Jaimini Patel, Marianne Holm Hansen and Caroline Wright. The group come together on a regular basis to explore texts that have an implicit or explicit relevance to their practices whilst also offering up more tangential propositions. The shared act of reading offers a platform for discussion around a central subject and, through this process, the group unearth new perspectives, possibilities and relationships both within and beyond their shared and individual practices.
For the August Collective at APT, misreadings will expand and deepen these discussions through a collaborative exploration that sets up, or in motion, acts/dialogues/thinking/doing and not-doing, enfolding and entangling particular aspects of the texts, the space and each artists’ practice.
